How do you get a flsh file for a game to upload on nonoba?

goto your 'home' page - there on the right you will see a box with a link to do so - follow the steps on the popup page, using the 'browse' button(s) to find the Flash (and the DLL if needed) files then upload.

I mean how do you get a flash file from like addictinggames.com

i could be wrong - but i don't believe you can embed games here that are not of your own creation (somebody please correct me if that's not right)

but you can use the 'embed' code that addictinggames.com lists there to link to the game, from a webpage, post or blog.

also - just so you know - you can't really 'get' the flash file from addicting, there are some security protections in place, and if you were to by-pass those things and take the file, that considered 'stealing' - not cool.

You can embed Games that aren't yours if you don't check the box asking that.

yes, but in order to do so you need to have the SWF file to upload, like you're asking about - and the embed code i'm referring to is an html tag (ie. an <object> tag usually) - so i'm fairly certain that you need to go about it another way to embed a link to a game from another site.

yes Net - but the docs still don't address the issue of embedding using a html tag string as is commonly found on other sites, and even this one.

can one place that string within the flash file input field?
(i thought you need an swf file)

yeah i can read, and you fail to see the point. when you only have access to the 'embed' string as in:

" <embed src='http://www.addictinggames.com/D78AQSAKQLQWI9/5034.swf' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='660' height='480'></embed><br><a href='http://www.addictinggames.com' target='_blank' title='Play Games'>Play Games at AddictingGames</a> "

or a URL like this:

" <div><a href='http://www.addictinggames.com/portapusher.html?r=user_posted_link' style='color:#2e4b82;'><img src='/fimages/5034.jpg' width='50' height='50' align='left' style='float:left; border:2px solid #006; margin-right:5px;'><b style='display:block; padding-top:18px;'>Porta-Pusher</b></a><br clear='all'></div> "

as given for embedding at AG, you cannot place that in the 'upload' page, and if you harvest the file location from here, it will not work being out of sandbox, as well as requiring AG security files and DB.

my point is, that you DO need the " ACTUAL FLASH FILE " - and is what I've said from the beginning - and cannot mount a game here with strings such as the above - so the OP will not be able to post games that are housed on AG.

is that better for you?

"if the swf for a game is freely distributed"
this is exactly the point - the OPs question - which I am NOT, you see - is related specifically to AddictingGames - It just so happens that I do development work for them and know their systems.

so then the question is NOT moot, because at the AG site an others like it, you are allowed to redirect, and embed through the code provided (as is also provided here), but you don't have the rights or access to the original files. and here it seems as though it is not possible to post files using the codes they provide.

I am not the one wanting to upload a file from AG - that's the OPs Q - i MAKE games FOR them!
