Playerio is kind of the NonobaAPI2, there's really no reason to hang about on the old one. There will probably be bug fixes but I doubt any new features.

Well, i see the benefits for some developers who want to do their own chat / lobby /friends system /DB etc...
...but for everyone else nonoba seems much more suited. Also player IO doesnt have a data store yet...while nonoba does...
its a bit confusing really.

They are closing in on the completion of the datastore.

I don't think the nonoba api is entirely frozen, but as Toby said, the player.io API is kindof the next step.

What features are you looking for exactly in the Nonoba API?

I'm a little bit disappointed that playerIO doesn't support actionscript 2.0!
all my old games, wich have the oppurtunity to be multiplayer games, are made with actionscript 2.0!

So you said the nonoba API will not be stopped.
could someone help me with the nonoba API?
I can't find tutorials anywhere :(

bye

mani, all the documentation is right here
http://nonoba.com/developers/documentation/actionscript2

also when you download the api files it includes a few sample games with the source code
http://nonoba.com/developers/downloads

here is a getting started video

Is the multiplayer API also available for actionscript 2.0?

no, action script 2.0 is limited to the community API
Multiplayer must be done in AS 3 on the client side. and C# on the server side.
